Mediterranean Journals 2015-present
For me, small drawings are a means to either document a place, an experience or an idea.
What lies beneath the surface of the retelling of events or details?
While I consider them complete in themselves, they often become the seed for other works.
In 2016, when I retired from teaching at the University of Minnesota and left Minneapolis for Greece, I became able to spend time observing and appreciating the character and complexities of plants and animals that surround me. These drawings reflect upon these particulars and can serve as a means to seek understanding of one's place in the natural world.
