Evidence 2007-09

Summer 2007 and again summer 2009, Greece suffered from disastrous forest fires that were deliberate acts of arson. A law exists that prohibits development of land that has pine forests. Opportunistic developers set fire to these tracts. Crucial agricultural land was destroyed, particularly established olive groves.
