homage and encomium for our parents' struggle with cancer and our struggle with their loss. Through structured space, images and written texts, we attempted to shape a place for contemplation and remembrance. A mutual interest in architecture as figurative place led to a collaborative construction of components: gate, benches, wheel, shades, shelves.
My individual efforts in this installation sought to examine the imaging of self by women. These were clustered visual and verbal texts, articles and images. The text had as its base a lengthy conversation between my mother and me about aging and loss and appearances. The dresses were patterned on actual articles of our clothing that had served as pivotal elements in this conversation.
